November 17 – The Otsego Memorial Hospital data breach lawyers at Console & Associates, P.C are investigating the data breach that was reported after the company was targeted in a recent cyber security attack. It is unclear if any patient data was compromised.
According to a Databreaches.net article, Otsego Memorial Hospital reported a data breach after they were targeted in a recent cyber security attack. Otsego Memorial has confirmed that it experienced a security breach in October, requiring the temporary shutdown of its computer system. A spokesperson for Munson Healthcare would not confirm that the incident was related to a ransomware attack. She also stated that the company has “no reason to believe patient data was compromised.” The representative also confirmed that the incident was isolated to Otsego Memorial Health and that it did not impact any other Munson Health facilities elsewhere in Michigan. Otsego Memorial Hospital has not yet confirmed that patient data was compromised but if they do, they 
will be required to send out data breach letters to those individuals whose information was affected by the breach.
