November 18 – The Pathology Resource Network (“PRN”) data breach lawyers at Console & Associates, P.C are investigating the data breach that was reported after the company was affected by a recent cyber security attack at Cadence Bank. The Pathology Resource Network data breach resulted in the names, addresses, dates of birth, Social Security numbers, driver’s license numbers, health insurance information, medical information, treatment information, billing and claims information, and financial account information of certain individuals being compromised.
According to a news article, Pathology Resource Network reported a data breach after they were affected by a recent cyber security attack at Cadence Bank. On June 1, 2023, Cadence Bank learned of a previously unknown vulnerability affecting the MOVEit file transfer application created by Progress Software. The company installed all patches to mitigate any impact of the vulnerability and launched an investigation. On June 28, 2023, the investigation determined that an unauthorized user exploited the MOVEit vulnerability, and accessed and downloaded information that was stored within the MOVEit application between May 28, 2023 and May 31, 2023. Cadence Bank then notified Pathology Resource Network on September 7, 2023. On October 27, 2023, Pathology Resource 
Network sent out data breach letters to those individuals whose information was affected by the breach.
