October 25 – The Populus Financial Group data breach lawyers at Console & Associates, P.C are investigating the data breach that was reported after the company was targeted in a recent cyber security attack. The Populus Financial Group data breach resulted in the names, Social Security numbers, and financial account information of certain individuals being compromised.
According to the Attorney General of Texas, Populus Financial Group reported a data breach after they were targeted in a recent cyber security attack. Not much information is available at the moment but we know that Populus filed a notice of data breach on October 18, 2023. After learning that sensitive consumer data was accessible to an unauthorized party, Populus Financial reviewed the compromised files to determine what information was leaked and which consumers were impacted. The Texas Attorney General’s breach report suggests that as many as 16,159 people in Texas 
were affected by the Populus data breach. Populus Financial Group sent out data breach letters to those individuals whose information was affected by the breach.
