According to a notice posted on Ardent’s website, Portneuf Medical Center reported a data breach after they were affected by a recent cyber security attack at Portneuf’s parent company, Ardent Health Services. On November 23, 2023, Ardent identified a potential cybersecurity incident. The company secured its systems and launched an investigation that is still ongoing, and as of November 30, 2023, the company was still working to restore operations. Ardent and Portneuf Medical Center will likely investigate the possibility of a data breach once all operations have been resumed. If Ardent Health is able to confirm that patient information was compromised, it will be required to send out data breach letters to those individuals whose information was affected by the breach.
