November 17 – The Salem Regional Medical Center (“SRMC”) data breach lawyers at Console & Associates, P.C are investigating the data breach that was reported after the company was affected by a recent cyber security attack at Perry Johnson & Associates (“PJ&A”). The Salem Regional Medical Center data breach resulted in the names, Social Security numbers, dates of birth, addresses, medical record numbers, hospital account numbers, admission diagnoses, and dates and times of service of certain individuals being compromised.
According to multiple sources, Salem Regional Medical Center reported a data breach after they were affected by a recent cyber security attack at Perry Johnson & Associates (“PJ&A”). PJ&A discovered a potential data security incident on approximately May 2, 2023. The company launched an investigation and determined that an unauthorized party had gained access to the company’s IT network between March 27, 2023 and May 2, 2023. On October 31, 2023, Salem Regional Medical Center sent out data breach letters to those individuals whose information was affected by the breach.
