October 28 – The Seiko Group Corporation (“Seiko”) data breach lawyers at Console & Associates, P.C are investigating the data breach that was reported after the company was targeted in a recent cyber security attack. The Seiko data breach resulted in the sensitive information belonging to customers and employees being compromised.

What Happened?

According to a notice posted on their website, Seiko reported a data breach after they were targeted in a recent cyber security attack. On July 28, 2023, Seiko detected unauthorized access to portions of its IT network. The company launched an investigation and confirmed that approximately 60,000 items of personal data held by Seiko were compromised. Seiko began sending out data breach letters to those individuals whose information was affected by the breach.

The company has more than a dozen subsidiaries; however, only Seiko Watch Corporation (SWC) and Seiko Instruments Inc. (SII) appears to have been affected by the recent ransomware attack.
