November 23 – The Spectrum Brands, Inc. data breach lawyers at Console & Associates, P.C are investigating the data breach that was reported after the company was affected by a recent cyber security attack at Welltok, Inc. The Spectrum Brands data breach resulted in the sensitive information of certain employees being compromised.
According to the Attorney General of Vermont, Spectrum Brands reported a data breach after they were affected by a recent cyber security attack at Welltok. Welltok operates Cafewell, which is an employee wellness benefit used to help employees make healthy lifestyle changes. The company uses the secure MOVEit file transfer program. On May 31, 2023, Progress Software, the creator of MOVEit disclosed a security vulnerability within software. Once Welltok learned of the vulnerability, it applied all available patches then launched an investigation. The investigation confirmed that an unauthorized party accessed and acquired some 
confidential data that Welltok transmitted using MOVEit. On November 13, 2023, Welltok sent out data breach letters to those individuals whose information was affected by the breach.
Welltok, Inc. is a healthcare services and support company as well as a subsidiary of Virgin Pulse. Virgin Pulse is a healthcare software company based out of Providence, Rhode Island. The company is partially owned by Virgin Group, a large multinational venture capital conglomerate based out of London, England.
