November 18 – The Stanley Steemer International, Inc. The Stanley Steemer data breach resulted in the names, Social Security numbers, driver’s license numbers, and financial account information of certain individuals being compromised. It is believed to have impacted as many as 66,978 individuals.
According to the Attorney General of Maine, Stanley Steemer reported a data breach after they were targeted in a recent cyber security attack. On March 6, 2023, Stanley Steemer detected unusual activity within its computer system. The company secured its system and then launched an investigation that confirmed that an unauthorized party was able to access its computer network between February 10, 2023 and March 6, 2023. It was also determined that the unauthorized actor had the ability to access and acquire certain files containing confidential consumer data while on the network. On November 15, 2023, Stanley Steemer sent out data breach letters to those individuals whose information was affected by the breach.
