According to the Attorney General of Maine, Systems East reported a data breach after they were targeted in a recent cyber security attack. The company provides e-payment solutions and online payment processing services for various companies. On August 25, 2023, they learned that an unauthorized party was able to temporarily access portions of its computer network. The company stopped the attack and launched an investigation that confirmed that the unauthorized party was able to access an encrypted database located on its computer network. On November 16, 2023, Systems East sent out data breach letters to those individuals whose information was affected by the breach.
