November 29 – The UT Health East Texas data breach lawyers at Console & Associates, P.C are investigating the data breach that was reported after the company was targeted in a recent cyber security attack.
According to a news article, UT Health East Texas reported a data breach after they were targeted in a recent cyber security attack. On November 23, 2023, UT Health East Texas became aware of a network outage that the company characterized as a “potential security incident.” They began diverting patients to other area hospitals as it worked to bring its systems online. A spokesperson for the company initially suggested that all facilities would resume operations within 24-36 hours. On Monday, November 27, 2023 at around 12 p.m., UT Health East Texas stopped diverting patients. At this time, it is unclear if patient data was leaked but if it was, UT Health East Texas will be required to send out data breach letters to those individuals whose information was affected by the breach.
