July 23 – The Delta Dental of California data breach lawyers at Console & Associates, P.C are investigating the data breach that was reported after the company was affected by a recent third party cyber security attack at Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe, LLP. The Delta Dental of California data breach resulted in the confidential information belonging to those insured by Delta Dental of California being compromised. It is believed to have impacted as many as 152,818 individuals.
According to the Attorney General of Maine, Delta Dental of California reported a data breach after they were affected by a recent third party cyber security attack at Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe, LLP. Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe served as legal counsel to Delta Dental of California. On March 13, 2023, Orrick identified suspicious activity within its computer network, including a file share that Orrick used to store certain client files. The company launched an investigation and determined that an unauthorized party had obtained files containing confidential information from the company’s IT network between February 28, 2023 and March 13, 2023. On July 21, 2023, Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe sent out data breach letters on behalf of Delta Dental of California to those individuals whose information was affected by the breach.
