July 13 – The Deutsche Bank data breach lawyers at Console & Associates, P.C are investigating the data breach that was reported after the company was affected by a recent third party cyber security attack. At this time it is unclear what data types and how many individuals were affected by the Deutsche Bank data breach.
According to an article posted by The Bleeping Computer, Deutsche Bank reported a data breach after they were affected by a recent third party cyber security attack. Deutsche Bank recently confirmed that a data breach at one of their service providers exposed its customers’ data. They have not disclosed the name of the service provider or what led to the breach. Based on the description of the event, “more than 100 companies in more than 40 countries” suggests it may be related to the MOVEit vulnerability first announced on May 31, 2023, by Progress Software. It is to be noted that the incident did not affect any of its computer systems and that any leaked information was stored on the service provider’s MOVEit server. Deutsche Bank sent out data breach letters to those individuals whose information was affected by the breach.
