October 10 – The Edmonds School District data breach lawyers at Console & Associates, P.C are investigating the data breach that was reported after the company was targeted in a recent cyber security attack. The Edmonds School District data breach resulted in the names, Social Security numbers, addresses, financial account information, employee identification numbers, student numbers, dates of birth and student records of certain individuals being compromised. It is believed to have impacted as many as 91,325 individuals.
According to the Attorney General of Maine, Edmonds School District reported a data breach after they were targeted in a recent cyber security attack. On January 31, 2023, Edmonds detected unusual activity within its computer network. The company launched an investigation and determined that an unauthorized party was able to access information stored on its systems between January 16, 2023 and January 31, 2023. It was later confirmed that some of the files that were accessible to the unauthorized party contained confidential information belonging to current and former employees and current and former students. Previously, on February 10, 2023, Edmonds School District sent out data breach letters to affected individuals. Additional victims were discovered, and so, Edmonds issued a subsequent notice on October 6, 2023.
