On February 22, 2024, the company identified suspicious activity within its computer network prompting EFS to secure its network and launch an investigation. It was confirmed that the incident resulted from a zero-day vulnerability in a software program used by an external IT provider. On May 23, 2024, EFS Advisors sent out data breach letters to those individuals whose information was affected by the breach.
