According to the Attorney General of Vermont, the Electrostim Medical Services data breach was reported after they were targeted in a recent cyber security attack. On May 13, 2023, the company detected suspicious activity within its computer network prompting them to secure its systems and launch an investigation. It was confirmed that an unauthorized party accessed the company’s IT network between April 27, 2023 and May 13, 2023. EMSI also determined that the unauthorized party accessed certain files containing confidential consumer information. On December 28, 2023, Electrostim Medical Services sent out data breach letters to those individuals whose information was affected by the breach.
