October 13 – The Encore Pharmacy, formerly known as Founder Project Rx, Inc. (“Encore,” “Founders”) data breach lawyers at Console & Associates, P.C are investigating the data breach that was reported after the company was targeted in a recent cyber security attack. The Encore Pharmacy data breach resulted in the names, contact information, insurance information, prescription and other medical information, dates of birth, driver’s license numbers, and Social Security numbers of certain individuals being compromised. It is believed to have impacted as many as 30,836 individuals.
According to the Attorney General of Massachusetts, Encore Pharmacy reported a data breach after they were targeted in a recent cyber security attack. On July 24, 2023, Founders learned of a data security incident impacting one of the company’s business email accounts.
The company secured the account and launched an investigation. Founders determined that certain personal information and protected health information were accessible through the compromised email account. On September 15, 2023, Encore Pharmacy sent out data breach letters to those individuals whose information was affected by the breach.
Founder Project Rx is a specialty and retail pharmacy located in Kissimmee, Florida. However, the company was acquired by Omnicell, a large healthcare software company, in 2022.
