July 29 – The Family Vision of Anderson data breach lawyers at Console & Associates, P.C are investigating the data breach that was reported after the company was targeted in a recent cyber security attack. The Family Vision of Anderson data breach resulted in the first and last names, dates of birth, Social Security numbers, driver’s license numbers, addresses, telephone numbers, email addresses, genders, health insurance information, and protected health information of certain individuals being compromised. It is believed to have impacted as many as 62,631 individuals.
According to the Attorney General of Maine, Family Vision of Anderson reported a data breach after they were targeted in a recent cyber security attack. On May 22, 2023, Family Vision was informed that the practice had been the victim of a recent ransomware attack. In response, Family Vision disabled its systems and launched an investigation into the alleged cyber attack.
On May 21, 2023, Family Vision confirmed that an unauthorized party had installed ransomware onto its server, resulting in the server being encrypted. The server contained confidential patient information. On July 26, 2023, Family Vision of Anderson sent out data breach letters to those individuals whose information was affected by the breach.
