According to the Attorney General of California, the Fidelity Investments Life Insurance Company data breach was reported after they were affected by a recent cyber security attack at Infosys McCamish, a third-party service provider FILI uses to assist with the administration of life insurance policies. In November 2023, Infosys McCamish informed FILI that it was the target of a ransomware attack. An investigation was launched that confirmed that an unauthorized party was able to access certain information belonging to FILI customers that was stored on Infosys McCamish systems between October 29, 2023 and November 2, 2023. On March 1, 2024, Fidelity Investments Life Insurance Company sent out data breach letters to those individuals whose information was affected by the breach.
