July 31 – The Flagstar Bank data breach lawyers at Console & Associates, P.C are investigating the data breach that was reported after the company was targeted in a recent cyber security attack. The Flagstar Bank data breach resulted in the names and Social Security numbers of certain individuals being compromised. It is believed to have impacted as many as 1,400,000 individuals.
According to the Attorney General of Maine, Flagstar Bank reported a data breach after they were targeted in a recent cyber security attack. On January 24, 2021, Flagstar Bank detected a potential cybersecurity incident resulting in the company securing its systems and then launching an investigation. The Flagstar Bank investigation confirmed that an unauthorized party was able to access the company’s systems and access confidential customer information between January 20, 2021 and January 22, 2021. On July 30, 2023, Flagstar Bank sent out data breach letters to those individuals whose information was affected by the breach.
