July 10 – The Gates Corporation data breach lawyers at Console & Associates, P.C are investigating the data breach that was reported after the company was targeted in a recent cyber security attack. The Gates Corporation data breach resulted in the names, Social Security numbers, addresses, dates of birth, direct deposit information, driver’s license numbers, and passport numbers of certain individuals being compromised. It is believed to have impacted as many as 11,090 individuals.
According to the Attorney General of Maine, Gates Corporation reported a data breach after they were targeted in a recent ransomware attack. Gates learned that it had been the victim of a ransomware attack on February 11, 2023. The company launched an investigation and determined that on April 30, 2023, an unauthorized party was able to access and remove certain files containing confidential human resources data relating to employees. On June 30, 2023, Gates Corporation sent out data breach letters to those individuals whose information was affected by the breach.
