October 4 – The Greater Dallas Healthcare Enterprises (“GDHE”) data breach lawyers at Console & Associates, P.C are investigating the data breach that was reported after the company was targeted in a recent cyber security attack. The Greater Dallas Healthcare Enterprises data breach resulted in the names, dates of birth, addresses, medical and treatment information, billing information and claims information of as many as 143,833 individuals being compromised.
According to the Attorney General of Texas, Greater Dallas Healthcare Enterprises reported a data breach after they were targeted in a recent cyber security attack. On August 11, 2023, GDHE learned that an unauthorized party had gained access to a medical assistant’s Microsoft 365 email account. The company contained the incident and then launched an investigation. The GDHE investigation confirmed that the unauthorized third party was able to access the medical assistant’s email account between July 28, 2023 and August 15, 2023, which provided them with access to certain files, including those that contained personal information. There was also evidence that the hackers removed some of this data. On October 2, 2023, Greater Dallas Healthcare Enterprises 
sent out data breach letters to those individuals whose information was affected by the breach.
