July 26 – The Honeywell International Inc. (“Honeywell”) data breach lawyers at Console & Associates, P.C are investigating the data breach that was reported after the company was affected by a recent third party cyber security attack at Progress Software. The Honeywell data breach resulted in the consumers’ sensitive information of certain individuals being compromised.
According to a notice posted on their website, Honeywell reported a data breach after they were affected by a recent third party cyber security attack at Progress Software. Honeywell uses a popular file transfer called MOVEit, which was created by Progress Software. Back in May 2023, Progress Software disclosed a previously unknown vulnerability within MOVEit. This vulnerability allowed hackers to access MOVEit servers, as well as the information contained on these servers. Honeywell launched an investigation, which confirmed that one of Honeywell’s MOVEit servers was accessed by an unauthorized party. Honeywell sent out data breach letters to those individuals whose information was affected by the breach.
