August 30 – The Hospital Sisters Health System (“HSHS”) and Prevea Health data breach lawyers at Console & Associates, P.C are investigating the data breach that was reported after the company was targeted in a recent cyber security attack. The Hospital Sisters Health System data breach resulted in the patient information of certain individuals being compromised.
According to a notice posted on Prevea Health’s website, Hospital Sisters Health System reported a data breach after they were targeted in a recent cyber security attack. HSHS hospitals and Prevea Health are working through a temporary system outage. Currently, patients cannot reliably access either company’s phone system, and MyChart and MyPrevea communications are temporarily not available. In the meantime, Prevea Health and HSHS are relying on their “well-established downtime policies and procedures.” Data breach letters will be sent out to those individuals whose information was affected by the breach.
