May 21 – The data breach lawyers at Console & Associates, P.C. are investigating the Interactive Brokers data breach that was reported after the company was targeted in a recent cyber security attack. The Interactive Brokers data breach resulted in the below information of certain individuals being compromised:

  • names,
  • Social Security numbers,
  • financial account information
  • and driver’s license numbers

What Happened?

According to the Attorney General of Massachusetts, the Interactive Brokers data breach was reported after they were targeted in a recent cyber security attack. On January 11, 2024, the company learned that an unauthorized party had been able to access an employee’s email account. An investigation confirmed that an unauthorized party had been able to access the employee email account, which contained confidential information belonging to certain consumers. On May 16, 2024, Interactive Brokers sent out data breach letters to those individuals whose information was affected by the breach.
