June 30 – The Jackson National Life Insurance Company data breach lawyers at Console & Associates, P.C are investigating the data breach that was reported after the company was affected in a recent third party cybersecurity attack at PBI Research Services. The Jackson National Life Insurance Company data breach resulted in the confidential information of certain individuals being compromised. It is believed to have impacted as many as approximately 700,000 to 800,000 of Jackson’s customers.
According to the Securities and Exchange Commission, Jackson National Life Insurance Company reported a data breach after they were affected in a recent third party cyber security attack. Recently, Jackson learned that its third-party vendor, PBI Research Services (“PBI”) was affected by the MOVEit incident that involved a vulnerability in the software. Jackson National Life Insurance Company used PBI’s services to verify a policyholder’s death prior to paying out benefits. An investigation was launched and it was determined that an unauthorized party was able to download personal information belonging to an estimated 700,000 to 800,000 Jackson customers. On June 26, 2023, Jackson National Life Insurance Company sent out data breach letters to those individuals whose information was affected by the breach.
