October 7 – The McLaren Health Care data breach lawyers at Console & Associates, P.C are investigating the data breach that was reported after the company was targeted in a recent cyber security attack. The McLaren Health Care data breach is believed to have impacted the Full name, Social Security numbers, Health insurance information, Date of birth, Billing or claims information, Diagnosis, Physician information, Medical record number, Medicare/Medicaid information, Prescription/medication information, and Diagnostic results and treatment information of as many as 2,192,515 patients.
According to various news articles, McLaren Health Care reported a data breach after they were targeted in a recent ransomware attack. Around August 22, 2023, McLaren detected suspicious activity within its computer environment. The company took its systems offline while it investigated the incident. The McLaren investigation reportedly confirmed that the suspicious activity was related to a ransomware attack where unauthorized actors had access to their systems since July 28, 2023. The notorious 
ALPHV/BlackCat ransomware group claimed responsibility for the cyberattack, adding McLaren Health Care to its data leak site, which is hosted on the Dark Web. The group claims that the stolen information totals more than six terabytes. On November 9, 2023, McLaren Health Care sent out data breach letters to those individuals whose information was affected by the breach.
McLaren Health Care Corporation is a large healthcare system based out of Grand Blanc, Michigan that operates 14 hospitals in Michigan, as well as dozens of other healthcare facilities, including ambulatory surgery centers, imaging centers, primary care centers, specialty care centers and more.
