July 23 – The Mission Essential Group data breach lawyers at Console & Associates, P.C are investigating the data breach that was reported after the company was targeted in a recent cyber security attack. The Mission Essential Group data breach resulted in the names and Social Security numbers of certain individuals being compromised. It is believed to have impacted as many as 12,988 individuals.
According to the Attorney General of Maine, Mission Essential Group reported a data breach after they were targeted in a recent cyber security attack. In September 2022, MEG was informed by federal law enforcement authorities about a potential incident in which certain email accounts were subject to unauthorized access. The company launched an investigation with the assistance of cybersecurity experts. Mission Group’s investigation was unable to confirm the reports of law enforcement officials; however, the company decided to inform potentially affected parties out of an abundance of caution. On July 20, 2023, Mission Essential Group sent out data breach letters to those individuals whose information was affected by the breach.
