August 9 – The Omaha Health Insurance Company (“OHIC”), a division of Mutual of Omaha, data breach lawyers at Console & Associates, P.C are investigating the data breach that was reported after the company was affected by a recent third party cyber security attack. The Mutual of Omaha Rx data breach resulted in the names, Social Security numbers, dates of birth, medical claims information, banking information, billing information and medical treatment information of certain individuals being compromised.
According to the Attorney General of Montana, Mutual of Omaha Rx reported a data breach after they were affected by a recent third party cyber security attack. On June 22, OHIC was informed by one of the company’s vendors that the vendor had experienced a security incident that it had discovered on June 21, 2023. In response to learning about the incident, OHIC’s vendor launched an investigation, ultimately confirming that an unauthorized party downloaded confidential information between May 30, 2023 and June 2, 2023. On August 3, 2023, Mutual of Omaha Rx sent out data breach letters to those individuals whose information was affected by the breach.
