What Happened?

According to the Attorney General of Maine, the Northeast Orthopedics and Sports Medicine data breach was reported after they were targeted in a recent cyber security attack. On November 22, 2023, the company detected unusual activity within its computer network. Northeast Orthopedics secured its systems and launched an investigation.

On December 29, 2023, it was confirmed that an unauthorized party was able to access portions of its IT network, including files containing confidential patient information. On March 5, 2024, Northeast Orthopedics and Sports Medicine sent out data breach letters to those individuals whose information was affected by the breach.
