April 30 – The data breach lawyers at Console & Associates, P.C. are investigating the Octapharma Plasma data breach that was reported after the company was targeted in a recent cyber security attack. The Octapharma Plasma data breach may have resulted in the sensitive information of certain individuals being compromised.

What Happened?

According to a HIPAA Journal article, the Octapharma Plasma data breach was reported after they were targeted in a recent cyber security attack. Information on the breach is still developing however, according to a website notice posted by Octapharma Plasma, on April 17, 2024, the company detected suspicious activity within its computer network. Octapharma took its systems offline and as a result, Octapharma’s U.S. facilities were closed between April 17, 2024 and April 22, 2024. Octapharma Plasma will need to send out data breach letters to those individuals whose information was affected by the breach.
