Based on a filing with the Vermont Attorney General’s office, OneGroup NY became aware of suspicious activity within one of its employee email accounts on July 29, 2024. Upon discovering the issue, the company secured its systems and launched a comprehensive investigation.
The investigation confirmed that an unauthorized party had gained access to the compromised email account between May 6 and May 21, 2024. The exposed data reportedly included sensitive information of individuals who had filed workers’ compensation claims through MEMIC Indemnity, a corporate client of OneGroup NY.
After reviewing the contents of the affected account, OneGroup completed its review on February 4, 2025. The company then began notifying affected individuals of the breach by mailing out data breach letters on June 6, 2025. These letters provide recipients with specific details about what information may have been accessed.
