While the scope of the attack is not yet known, OraSure Technologies handles a wide range of sensitive information that may have been compromised.
According to the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), the OraSure data breach was reported after they were targeted in a recent cybersecurity attack. OraSure detected this attack on March 27th, 2024, which prompted it to notify law enforcement and begin an investigation.
While the OraSure data breach investigation confirmed that hackers stole information from the company’s network by April 12, 2024, the investigation remains ongoing. It is not yet known what kinds of data the hackers stole, or how many victims there are.
