According to the Attorney General of Montana, the Orsini Specialty Pharmacy data breach was reported after they were targeted in a recent cyber security attack. On January 10, 2024, the company was notified of suspicious activity within an employee’s email account. Orsini secured the affected email account and launched an investigation. It was confirmed that an unauthorized party had been able to access the employee’s email account between January 8, 2024 and January 10, 2024, including sensitive patient information contained within the email account. On March 8, 2024, Orsini Specialty Pharmacy sent out data breach letters to those individuals whose information was affected by the breach.
