October 6 – The OrthoAlaska data breach lawyers at Console & Associates, P.C are investigating the data breach that was reported after the company was targeted in a recent cyber security attack. The OrthoAlaska data breach resulted in the name, date of birth, driver’s license or state identification, Social Security Number, payment card number, account number, routing number, medical information, account information, and/or health insurance information of certain individuals being compromised. It is believed to have impacted as many as 161,130 individuals.

What Happened?

According to the Attorney General of Maine, OrthoAlaska reported a data breach after they were targeted in a recent cyber security attack. On October 12, 2022, OrthoAlaska discovered unauthorized activity on their systems. The company immediately systems and launched an investigation which determined that there was unauthorized access to files stored within OrthoAlaska’s Data Breach Alertsystems that contained information about their patients. On October 11, 2023, OrthoAlaska sent out data breach letters to those individuals whose information was affected by the breach.
