July 30 – The Pacific Premier Bank data breach lawyers at Console & Associates, P.C are investigating the data breach that was reported after the company was affected by a recent third party cyber security attack. The Pacific Premier Bank data breach resulted in the names, Social Security numbers, account numbers, and other personally identifiable information of certain individuals being compromised.
According to a notice posted on their website, Pacific Premier Bank reported a data breach after they were affected by a recent third party cyber security attack. Pacific Premier relies on the services of various third-party vendors. On July 20, 2023, a vendor of Pacific Premier notified the bank of a data security incident affecting Pacific Premier customers’ confidential information.
Evidently, the vendor used MOVEit file sharing software that was recently discovered to contain a critical vulnerability that allowed hackers to access information stored on MOVEit servers, including the vendor’s. Pacific Premier’s vendor launched an investigation and confirmed that an unauthorized party was able to access Pacific Premier customer data in the vendor’s possession. Data breach letters will be sent out to those individuals whose information was affected by the breach.
