What Happened? 

According to the Attorney General of Montana, the Pembina County Memorial Hospital data breach was reported after they were targeted in a recent cyber security attack. On April 13, 2023, the hospital identified suspicious activity within its computer network prompting them to secure their network and launch an investigation. It was confirmed that an unauthorized party accessed its systems on March 7, 2023, and gained access to certain patient information on the Pembina network. On March 25, 2024, Pembina County Memorial Hospital sent out data breach letters to those individuals whose information was affected by the breach.
