September 12 – The Prospect Medical data breach lawyers at Console & Associates, P.C. are investigating the data breach that was reported after Prospect Medical was targeted in a recent cyber security attack. The Prospect Medical data breach resulted in the Social Security numbers, driver’s licenses, passports, and financial information of certain individuals being compromised. The breach is believed to have impacted as many as 500,000 individuals.
According to a blog post from Databreaches.net, Prospect Medical reported a data breach after they were targeted in a recent ransomware attack. Ransomware group Rhysida has claimed responsibility and stated they’ve leaked most of the data. Prospect Medical has yet to state what types of data are included in the breach or to notify affected individuals.
However, the ransomware group claims to have obtained 500,000 Social Security numbers, as well as passport information, medical information, financial documents, and other personally identifiable information.

It oversees 16 healthcare facilities in states like California, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Rhode Island. Some distinguished entities under them are Bellflower Behavioral Health Hospital, Foothill Regional Medical Center, and Los Angeles Community Hospital. With a workforce surpassing 18,000, Prospect Medical records nearly $1.9 billion in yearly income.
