October 3 – The Prospect Medical Holdings, Inc. data breach lawyers at Console & Associates, P.C are investigating the data breach that was reported after the company was targeted in a recent cyber security attack. The Prospect Medical Holdings data breach resulted in the names and Social Security numbers of certain employees and their dependents being compromised. It is believed to have impacted as many as 190,000 individuals.
According to the Attorney General of Maine, Prospect Medical Holdings reported a data breach after they were targeted in a recent cyber security attack. On August 1, 2023, Prospect Medical learned about a data security incident that impacted the functionality of a portion of the company’s computer systems. The company secured its systems and launched an investigation which confirmed that an unauthorized party gained access to the company’s IT network between July 31, 2023 and August 3, 2023. It was later determined that the unauthorized party was able to access certain data belonging to employees and their dependents while in the company’s system. On September 29, 2023, Prospect Medical Holdings sent out data breach letters to those individuals whose information was affected by the breach.
