August 28 – The PurFoods, LLC, the parent company of Mom’s Meals, data breach lawyers at Console & Associates, P.C are investigating the data breach that was reported after the company was targeted in a recent cyber security attack. The PurFoods/Mom’s Meals data breach resulted in the names, Social Security numbers, driver’s license numbers, state identification numbers, financial account information, payment card information, medical information, health information, and dates of birth of certain individuals being compromised. It is believed to have impacted as many as 1,237,681 individuals.
According to the Attorney General of Maine, PurFoods, LLC reported a data breach after they were targeted in a recent cyber security attack. On February 22, 2023, Mom’s Meals identified suspicious activity within the company’s computer system. The company launched an investigation into the incident and confirmed that it experienced a cyberattack between January 16, 2023, and February 22, 2023, resulting in portions of the company’s computer network being encrypted. On August 25, 2023, PurFoods, LLC sent out data breach letters to those individuals whose information was affected by the breach.
