July 19 – The Quorum Federal Credit Union data breach lawyers at Console & Associates, P.C are investigating the data breach that was reported after the company was affected by a recent cyber security attack at Progress Software. The Quorum Federal Credit Union data breach resulted in the names, Social Security numbers, financial account information and driver’s license numbers of certain individuals being compromised. It is believed to have impacted as many as 17,054 individuals.
According to the Attorney General of Maine, Quorum Federal Credit Union reported a data breach after they were affected by a recent cyber security attack at Progress Software. Quorum uses the MOVEit file transfer program created by Progress Software. In May 2023, Progress Software announced a vulnerability in the MOVEit software that allowed unauthorized parties to access data stored on MOVEit servers. Quorum was notified of the MOVEit vulnerability and launched an investigation. They were able to determine that an unauthorized actor was able to access its MOVEit server between May 28, 2023 and May 30, 2023, which contained personal information about bank customers. On July 17, 2023, Quorum Federal Credit Union sent out data breach letters to those individuals whose information was affected by the breach.
