According to the Attorney General of California, the Rancho Family Medical Group data breach was reported after they were affected by a recent cyber security attack at KMJ Health Solutions. On January 11, 2024, KMJ notified Rancho Family Medical of a data security incident that occurred on November 19, 2023. Rancho Family Medical stopped using KMJ’s services and launched an investigation. The incident was reported as a server outage but it was found that an unauthorized party was able to breach the company’s IT network and access confidential Ranch Family Medical patient information. On March 11, 2024, Rancho Family Medical Group sent out data breach letters to those individuals whose information was affected by the breach.
Rancho Family Medical Group is a healthcare services provider located in Temecula, California that operates eleven facilities in California, including Menifee, Sun 
City, Fallbrook, Cal Oaks, Redhawk, Makena, Hot Springs, Hemet, and Single Oak. Rancho Family Medical also operates an urgent care facility and a pediatric practice in Temecula.
