August 31 – The RoundPoint Mortgage Servicing LLC data breach lawyers at Console & Associates, P.C are investigating the data breach that was reported after the company was targeted in a recent cyber security attack. The RoundPoint Mortgage data breach resulted in the sensitive information of RoundPoint Mortgage customers being compromised.
According to the Attorney General of California, RoundPoint Mortgage reported a data breach after they were targeted in a recent cyber security attack. Sovos is a vendor used by Roundpoint and provides them with certain services which require them to use the MOVEit third-party application created by Progress Software. On May 31, 2023, Progress Software announced a critical vulnerability in MOVEit. Upon learning of the vulnerability in MOVEit, Sovos took its MOVEit application offline and launched an investigation. Through its investigation, Sovos was able to confirm that certain information belonging to RoundPoint customers was downloaded by hackers as a result of the vulnerability in the MOVEit application. On August 29, 2023, Sovos Compliance sent out data breach letters on behalf of RoundPoint Mortgage to those individuals whose information was affected by the breach.
