February 8 – The data breach lawyers at Console & Associates, P.C. are investigating the Sage Home Loans data breach that was reported after the company was targeted in a recent cyber security attack. The Sage Home Loans (formerly known as Lenox Financial Mortgage data breach resulted in the below information of certain individuals being compromised:

  • names,
  • Social Security numbers,
  • addresses,
  • driver’s license numbers,
  • financial account information
  • and medical information

What Happened?

According to the Attorney General of California, the Sage Home Loans data breach was reported after they were targeted in a recent cyber security attack. On December 19, 2023, the company detected unusual activity within its computer system that appeared to be related to a ransomware attack prompting them to take steps to secure their network and launch an investigation. It was confirmed that an unauthorized actor gained access to the Lenox network on December 5, 2023, and obtained certain data from the network on December 19, 2023. On February 2, 2024, Sage Home Loans sent out data breach letters to those individuals whose information was affected by the breach.
