March 18 – The data breach lawyers at Console & Associates, P.C. are investigating the Saint Louis University data breach that was reported after the company was targeted in a recent cyber security attack. It is believed to have impacted as many as 93,612 individuals. The Saint Louis University data breach resulted in the below information of certain individuals being compromised:

  • financial account information,
  • passport numbers,
  • online credentials,
  • dates of birth,
  • health insurance information,
  • medical information,
  • and student record information

What Happened?

According to the Attorney General of Maine, the Saint Louis University data breach was reported after they were targeted in a recent cyber security attack. On March 2, 2023, the university detected suspicious activity within certain SLU email accounts prompting them to secure their systems and launch an investigation. On April 24, 2023, it was confirmed that personal information was contained in the compromised email accounts and also, a limited number of documents stored on SLU’s SharePoint and OneDrive platforms were also subject to unauthorized access between December 2022 and July 2023. On March 15, 2024, Saint Louis University sent out data breach letters to those individuals whose information was affected by the breach.
