June 8 – The Stanly Community College data breach is being investigated by the data breach lawyers at Console & Associates, P.C. The data breach was reported after the company was targeted in a recent cybersecurity attack. The Stanly Community College data breach resulted in the names, Social Security numbers, student ID numbers, and driver’s license numbers of certain individuals being compromised.
According to the Attorney General of Massachusetts and a notice posted on the company’s website, Stanly Community College reported a data breach after they were targeted in a recent cyber security attack. Through an investigation, the company was able to determine that an unauthorized party was able to access SCC email accounts on July 29, 2021, as well as between August 15-17, 2021 and August 3, 2021 to September 9, 2021. On May 24, 2023, Stanly Community College sent out data breach letters to those individuals whose information was affected by the breach.
