July 21 – The Sunflower Bank data breach lawyers at Console & Associates, P.C are investigating the data breach that was reported after the company was affected by a recent cyber security attack at Progress Software. The Sunflower Bank data breach resulted in the confidential customer information of certain individuals being compromised.
According to a notice posted on the company’s website, Sunflower Bank reported a data breach after they were affected by a recent cyber security attack at Progress Software. Sunflower Bank uses the MOVEit file transfer program to securely transfer sensitive and confidential information, including for its First National 1870 and Guardian Mortgage divisions. On May 31, 2023, Progress Software informed Sunflower Bank that MOVEit contained a critical vulnerability. The company launched an investigation that is still ongoing and determined that an unauthorized party was able to download files from its MOVEit server before the bank was notified of the vulnerability. Sunflower Bank will send out data breach letters to those individuals whose information was affected by the breach.
