July 13 – The Charles Schwab Corporation (“Schwab”), the parent company of TD Ameritrade, Inc. (“Ameritrade”) data breach lawyers at Console & Associates, P.C are investigating the data breach that was reported after the company was affected by a recent third party cyber security attack. The TD Ameritrade data breach resulted in the personal information of certain customers being compromised.
According to a notice posted on their website, Schwab reported a data breach after TD Ameritrade were affected by a recent third party cyber security attack. Ameritrade used the MOVEit software, created by Progress Software, on a limited basis. Recently, Ameritrade learned of a security incident involving MOVEit after Progress Software discovered a zero-day vulnerability. TD Ameritrade launched an investigation and it is still ongoing. The company will send out data breach letters to those individuals whose information was affected by the breach.
