July 28 – The Teachers’ Retirement System of the City of New York data breach lawyers at Console & Associates, P.C are investigating the data breach that was reported after the company was affected by a recent third party cyber security attack at Pension Benefits Information. According to a notice posted on their website, Teachers’ Retirement System of the City of New York reported a data breach after they were affected by a recent third party cyber security attack at Pension Benefits Information. TRS was recently informed by PBI Research Services, one of TRS’s vendors, of a data security incident involving the secure MOVEit file transfer software.
On May 31, 2023, the creator of MOVEit announced a previously unknown vulnerability that allowed unauthorized parties to access certain organizations’ MOVEit servers, including PBI’s. Teachers’ Retirement System of the City of New York sent out data breach letters to those individuals whose information was affected by the breach.
