On November 7, 2023, the company experienced a network disruption prompting them to launch an investigation that confirmed that an unauthorized party was able to access its network between November 6, 2023 and November 7, 2023. It was also confirmed that the unauthorized party could access files containing confidential patient information. On January 5, 2024, Harris Center sent out data breach letters to those individuals whose information was affected by the breach.
The Harris Center for Mental Health and IDD is a behavioral and developmental disability care center located in Houston, Texas that serves patients through 86 locations throughout Harris County, 
serving approximately 80,000 individuals.
