February 13 – The data breach lawyers at Console & Associates, P.C. are investigating the Trinity Universal Insurance Company data breach that was reported after the company was targeted in a recent cyber security attack. The Trinity Universal Insurance Company data breach resulted in the below information of certain individuals being compromised:

  • dates of birth,

What Happened?

According to the Attorney General of California, the Trinity Universal Insurance Company data breach was reported after they were targeted in a recent cyber security attack. The company recently learned that backup tapes went missing between July 7, 2023 and July 10, 2023 from one of the company’s offices in the process of a move from one location to another. The tapes were kept in a padlocked safe. Trinity Universal Insurance Company launched an investigation as they were unable to locate the lockbox. On January 10, 2024, it was confirmed that the backup tapes in the missing lockbox contained confidential information belonging to certain individuals. On February 9, 2024, Trinity Universal Insurance Company sent out data breach letters to those individuals whose information was affected by the breach.
